Custom Paintings & Commissions
Commissions are very personal. The discussions between Kathy and yourself will determine several factors: content, size, medium used, surface. These factors will decide the turnaround time, price, possible mat or framing, & shipping + handling.
Whether you have a beloved landscape in mind, an animal you want to honor, or simply a color and feeling you want to live with every day, Kathy works with you from the first idea through to the finished piece. Each commission is a true collaboration, painted in oils, watercolors, acrylics, or mixed media and with the same fluid expressiveness as her gallery work.
What Can Be Commissioned
The Process

Inquiry. Fill out the form below or email contact@kathyrushart.com with your idea, preferred size, and timeline.

Consultation. Kathy will be in touch to discuss your vision, ask questions, and confirm whether the project is a good fit.

Deposit. A 20% deposit is required to reserve your spot on the commission schedule. The balance is completed as agreed between Kathy and the client.

Sketch Review. Kathy shares a compositional sketch or reference image for your feedback before painting begins.

Painting. Kathy paints your piece and shares progress photos along the way.

Delivery. Final payment is due before shipping or local pickup. Your painting ships carefully packed and insured.

Commission slots fill quickly. If you have a specific date in mind, reaching out early is strongly recommended. Current turnaround is approximately 3–8 weeks from deposit to delivery.
